Chief Integrator - Aircraft Structures
Our Aerospace client based in Montreal Canada, are looking to appoint a Chief Integrator of Aircraft Structures. This is a Permanent Hire role, which will require living and working in Canada, therefore candidates must be prepared to relocate to Montreal Canada.
The Role:
- Lead a team who will develop structures and systems installation conceptual layouts for the complete Airframe on new and existing aircraft programs.
- Closely interface with stress, systems, interiors, and support functions such as thermodynamics, mass properties, etc.
- Working closely with Program Management Office, responsible to provide customization bids and ensure their viability for both cost, schedule and certifiability within restraint response times.
- Generate preliminary design studies and layouts using 3D modelling.
- Provide technical solutions to resolve design or manufacturing issues.
- Generate and execute weight savings ideas.
- Supply input to impact analysis (technical, cost, schedule).
- Support directly other engineering and operations departments.
- Support or lead design and program reviews with partner/suppliers.
- Provide status for project and functional management.
- Manage design changes through all the cycles of the change management process.
- Execute activities to support business objectives, on time, on budget and on quality.
- Coordinate the management of the various external partners of the program.
- Deliver engineering documentation and provide adequate visibility.
- Communicate effectively with all hierarchical levels of the company.
- Ensure communication and collaboration between functions, so that they can contribute to projects.
- Supervise a group of salaried employees. Establish priorities and plan and follow up accordingly.
- Supply technical approval.
- Ensure the establishment and compliance with departmental policies and procedures.
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications: - You have a technologist or bachelor’s degree in mechanical/aerospace engineering or aerospace technical field plus a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in aerospace or related industry.
- You must possess a strong knowledge of aircraft structures and/or systems installation: configuration, preliminary sizing, design for manufacturing, detail design (sheet metal, machined parts, piping, component assembly, GD&T), material and processes, certification requirements, weight control and industry design standards.
- You have a strong familiarity in aerospace manufacturing processes and capabilities.
- Your familiarity with Aircraft systems overall operation and function is considered an asset.
- Your familiarity with in-service operation and aircraft maintenance is an asset.
- Your familiarity with Aircraft Interiors is considered an asset.
- You have knowledge of CATIA V5, Enovia and MS Office is required.
- Knowledge of NX and Teamcenter is an asset.
- You are an energetic person with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have a high sense of commitment, are willing to accept responsibilities and act independently in a high-pressure partner/supplier team.
- You must be fluent in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
