What We're Looking For
Essential Experience:
- Design experience in a safety-critical environment (e.g., Defence, Aerospace, Nuclear, Automotive, Maritime, or similar).
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling.
- Knowledge in material and process selection.
- Expertise in design for manufacture and assembly.
- Proficient in GD&T.
- Strong problem-solving skills using 8D techniques and impact analysis.
Desirable Experience:
- FEA using hand calculations and software, and/or Design Failure Modes and Analysis.
- Familiarity with NX 12 & Teamcenter 11.
- Understanding of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards.
- Experience with multibody dynamics modeling and motion simulation.
Your Responsibilities
- Generate innovative design concepts and enhance existing designs, ensuring compliance with regulatory and customer requirements, including international civil and military aviation standards.
- Create commercially viable product definition information (PDI), including 3D models, detailed and assembly engineering drawings.
- Plan your workload effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Perform necessary performance and structural calculations using hand methods and software tools (e.g., spreadsheets, FEA).
- Develop top-level design layouts to support product development.
