Systems Engineer - Aerospace, Buckinghamshire UK.
Our Client is looking for skilled individuals to join their Systems Engineering team to work on a variety of different systems and their enabling subsystems. They seek a number of systems engineers, from Graduate up to Senior Engineer level, to work across the entire systems lifecycle.
These are an exciting set of opportunities to work from the initial customer engagement stages of a project all the way through to the final delivery and ongoing support of the product.
As a member of their team, you will have the ability to approach and solve problems with a systems mindset, being able to capture and analyse requirements, perform trade studies and conduct simulations, create and document the system design, decompose requirements to various subsystem levels, plan and track verification activities and engage with multiple stakeholders. In summary you will play a significant role in the technical direction and strategy of our ongoing and future project and products.

Role:- Employ a model-based systems engineering approach to manage requirements, develop architectures and coordinate/trace verification activities.
- Undertake top-down system design, explore architectural options and complete trade-off studies using a variety of simulation/modelling tools.
- Develop system requirements and translate them into subsystem requirements and interface definitions.
- Take a leading role in technical interchange meetings with internal and external customers, suppliers and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with implementation and verification teams to ensure delivery of a fully compliant system.
- Technical reporting of key findings and recommendations for delivery to customers and other stakeholders.
More senior roles:- Provide technical guidance and Systems Engineering governance to a growing team and the wider business.
- Lead and mentor teams of engineers.
- Provide subject matter expertise to the team and assigned projects.
Required:- Degree qualified in Physics, Engineering or Maths.
- Analytical Systems thinkers able to develop and communicate difficult/new concepts.
- Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and significant levels of uncertainty.
- Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving (strong numerical and analytical ability) and driving difficult issues to conclusion.
- Excellent verbal and written communication / collaboration skills.
Required for more senior roles:- Experience of developing complex systems, ideally in defence.
- Knowledge of Systems Engineering processes such as requirements elicitation, traceability, verification coverage, etc.
- Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance.
- Proficiency in working across the systems engineering lifecycle.
- Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities.
Nice to have experience:- Expertise with MBSE processes, tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect,) and languages (e.g. SysML).
- Experience of supporting design / delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes.
- Experience of aerospace standards and regulations.
