Flight Test Engineer -
Warwickshire with flexibility to work at different UK test sites.
Our client seeks an experienced Flight Test Engineer. They are forging ahead in hybrid propulsion electrification of Aircraft. Do you have experience in flight testing and obtaining flight permits and a passion for turning great ideas into a reality Our Client has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Flight Test Engineer who wants to be a part of this revolution. The Flight Test Engineer will apply his or her skills to take a leading role in organizing, executing and results capture of flight tests in two exciting aircraft projects in the UK.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a B.S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in the aerospace sector, in a product development environment.
- Proven knowledge of flight test methods, flight test planning, flight test instrumentation, flight test safety analysis, and data recording/processing.
- Powerplant testing experience preferred.
- Experience in working with UK CAA (or EASA) to obtain flight permits.
- Experience with electric propulsion, electrical systems and system engineering is a plus.
- Experience in working with government granted projects R&D projects such as Innovate UK and ATI projects is a plus.
- Strong technical, analytical and communication skills.
- Team player, experienced with working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- Capable to provide peak performance in stress situations.
- Pro-active and “can-do” mentality.
- Proven ability to deliver on time, on budget and with utmost quality.
- UK national or residing in the UK with a permit to work.
Reporting and Working Relations: The Flight Test Engineer will report to the Project Manager.
Other activities: In addition to above described responsibilities, other areas of work may involve the following activities:
- Advise on prototype engineering and manufacturing from a flight test point of view.
- Advise on flight tests for our client in the USA.
- Reviewing test plans, aircraft certification plans, and new project proposals.
This role will be based in the United Kingdom. Candidates must hold the rights to live and work in the United Kingdom.
You must be flexible to work at different flight testing grounds in the UK.
The 18 months will be a fixed term contract , moving to permanent employment following that period.
